TRAIL CONDITIONS

It's going to be warm and sunny this weekend. Now for the bad news.

Snowshoeing will be your best bet. There is still 100% cover on SS11 & SS15 with the odd rocks showing through; but you'll be walking mainly on the icy base as most the snow cover has gone.  It'll be quite hard early in the mornings (snowshoes or microspikes a must), getting softer as the day goes on. There are a few water spots to look out for. The other SS trails are the same, but showing more bare spots.

For skiing, the main A (red) trail is down to its icy base, with some large water areas; tracking non-existent. Lots of debris on the trails. B1 & B6 are the same, with a bit more snow cover on the icy base. Skiing not really recommended.

Rentals are closed for the season.

TRAIL CONDITIONS UPDATE

Weather conditions have made it very hard to groom recently.

Skate trails are good to very good with a firm packed base. Expect occasional icy patches.

Classic trails are open, but machine-made tracks are faint to non-existent. Most side trails are skied-in tracks with a packed powder surface. Main A trails have less distinctive tracks but are mostly smooth-packed powder surface. Expect some crusty and icy areas.

Snowshoe trails are excellent with packed firm conditions. DB

XC SKI TRAILS GROOMED AND TRACKED

What little snow we got today (Sunday) was groomed and tracked.

All the trails were groomed and tracked except for B4, B5 and the D (Duck) trail. We've also had a report of numerous fallen trees on B5 which should be avoided for now.

All the fallen trees and branches were removed from the trails that were groomed. Thanks Gord for all your work.

The snowshoe trails continue to offer very good conditions.JP

TRAIL CONDITIONS UPDATE - SUNDAY, FEB. 28

The weather extremes of the last week have left some challenging trails conditions, including icy sections and downed trees/branches. Recent grooming has not been possible.

All trails still enjoy 100% cover (no bare patches) and we are working hard to remove the numerous fallen branches - IF YOU CAN, GIVE US A HAND IN REMOVING THESE BRANCHES.

SNOWSHOE TRAILS ARE FULLY OPEN with some fresh snow over a hard packed crusty base. Occasional icy sections are to be expected.

Skate ski trails are quite fast with some fresh snow over a crusty base. Beware of some icy sections especially in the area of the T junction. Numerous fallen branches in some areas are being cleared. Expect fallen pine trees and boughs on A3 leading up to the gravel pit.

Classic Trails - TRACKS HIGHLY VARIABLE RANGING FROM QUITE GOOD TO NON-EXISTENT. Surface consists of some fresh snow over a crusty base. Expect occasional icy conditions and much fallen debris.
