Although the season came to a quick end and even if it wasn't the best snow season, we made the most of it and we are proud to say we were open more days than many other ski and snowshoe trails in the region. If you haven't already done so please consider becoming a member of or renewing your membership to the Friends of the Summerstown Trails, click JOIN US . For those who have already donated and become members, we thank you very much! Although we have been successful at receiving grants, those grants are for specific purchases (new equipment, interpretive signage, etc) and do not cover the majority of our expenses. It is through donations that we are able to keep the trails maintained and offer various programs such as school and rental programs. Hope to see your name on our membership list and thank you for your support!
It was a beautiful day!
Lots of people out enjoying the trails today. It was a beautiful day!
Skate skiing is fast yet very icy in sections.
Classic ski tracks are getting worn down and conditions are fair to poor.
Snowshoe trails are hard packed with good snow cover. TD
Very poor conditions. Stay off trails for now.
Ski Conditions are extremely poor currently due to the recent thaw. Please stay off the trails during this warm snap so as not to make ruts and bumps which will eventually freeze in. Walking, snowshoeing and skiing on the skate trails especially at this time will make big divots that will be hard to subsequently groom. As we still have some base, we will hopefully be quickly back in business once we get some more snow.
Difficult weather means snowshoe only today
With the warm weather and rain we ask that you please avoid skiing today. Skiing, especially skate skiing, on such soft conditions will put deep ruts in the packed snow. These ruts will then freeze overnight creating dangerous conditions that are difficult to groom out. For today, go snowshoeing instead!
From Jan 24 The conditions are fantastic today!
