Hiking

Whether you are a bird watcher or a day hiker, there are trails for you to explore at the Summerstown Trails. There are approximately 20 km of hikeable trails that people of all ages and abilities can enjoy.

With the winter season being over, the main trail, which is reserved for XC skiing in the winter, can now be used for hiking. This trail is very wide (more than 3 m wide), fairly flat and very dry, with no protruding roots or rocks. This main trail is great for people of all ages, including young families. You can spend a good hour just hiking that trail.

If you feel more adventurous, you can venture on the multi-use trails which are narrower and a bit more challenging.

Be aware that some of the winter trails cannot be used in the non-winter months, as they go through marshes and are now “under water”.

We also ask that people not hike the trails if it is too wet and not to go around wet spots so as not to damage the trail or the surrounding vegetation even further.
