Annual SkiFest Challenge Loppet

Our annual SKIFEST CHALLENGE is set for Sunday February 22 at 1pm. We will have Loppet-style classic and skate ski events of various distances for adults and kids.

Challenge yourself to ski our beautiful Summerstown trails as part of our ski Loppet. A Loppet is a Scandinavian term for a cross-country skiing event. It is a chance to come out and enjoy skiing in a group no matter your skill level. The events will be unofficially timed if you are interested in knowing your speed, but the main goal is to come out as a community and enjoy skiing. There are a variety of race distances and techniques to satisfy from beginner to advanced.

SUNDAY, FEB. 22 at 1pm.: Adult events followed by kids’ events

FORMAT: Mass start in the old parking lot– classic and skate technique

RACE DISTANCES:
- Classic ski: 6, 8 and 13 km loops
- Skate ski: 8 km loop
- 1, 2 and 3 km loops for kids (any children who have never taken part in the lessons program must have an adult accompanying them in the trails)

BIB PICKUP: event bibs can be picked up starting at 12:30.
